Leather jacket and spots

Where did the week go! I've been very busy this week juggling assignment deadlines, shopping trips and working in the big city for Vauxhall fashion scout. So I can't wait to do absolutely nothing but sit watching the Xfactor results show with my boyfriend and a tub of Ben and Jerrys cookie dough tomorrow night!

I went to Manchester last weekend to do some Christmas shopping with my boyfriend and came back with a grand total of zero presents for friends and family and more than enough enough pressies for myself, including a gorgeous berry toned asymmetrical dress which I picked up from Topshop and some sparkly ballerinas. It was my first time visiting the Trafford centre and to be honest I didn't know what all the fuss was about. To me it seemed like any other shopping centre, this was until I set foot in the food halls! China town, Italian side streets and even a ship; I couldn't decide where I actually wanted to eat, it was amazing!

Then Wednesday and Thursday I worked for Vauxhall Fashion Scout for their selection event, where buyers, designers, stylists and editors all came together to help make the decision on who to reward the internationally acclaimed Merit award for London Fashion Week A/W12. It was such an interesting day, hearing what people in such powerful positions in the fashion industry had to say about the designers and believe me it got heated at some points; a very tough decision was made...

I must say having to walk straight past Brick Lane was fairly difficult too... However very much regretting not buying a spotted mesh body! Very Stella McCartney.

Today, I'm currently bidding on an Oasis black leather jacket... staring price 99p and I'm the only bidder, sounds promising. Love the intensity of eBay!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Drapers WGSN Fashion Summit

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working backstage at this years Drapers WGSN Fashion Summit show which featured some of the recent fashion graduates from all over the UK. Feathers, chains and architectural knits were just some of the intricate details that graced the catwalk, and what an eclectic mix of designs there were! I absolutely loved it.

Oh and the toilets wern't half bad either in the beautiful One Whitehall Place... MASSIVE!

Asymetrical maxi and studded belt

Just a quick post before I trot off to Saturday job number two (something has to pay for my addiction to clothes!). Basically I LOVE my black asymetrical maxi skirt. What it may lack in bright colour, print or funky texture, makes up in drama , especially with the studded belt! And I certainly felt like a drama queen for this night. As much as I'd love to wear this during the day with a pair of roughed up boots and chunky cable knit cardi, unfortunately I'm not blessed with legs up to my armpits and so this baby will have to retire to my 'night out' wardrobe. But for all you lucky beauties over 5"5, I envy you.

P.S -- Check out my Leapord print wedges, cheeky bargain from soyoushoes!

Spitalfield Sunday

Sunday's can only mean one thing... a day of sleeping, eating and shopping. Actually, minus the sleeping part; after a few too many archers and lemonades Saturday night, my brain went into idol mode and I returned home (fair to say a little off balanced) in the early hours Sunday morning. Lets just say that extra hour in bed was extremely appreciated!

Any who back to 'fashion blog' talk... I visited Spitalfields market in East London for the first time and after strolling around for what seemed like hours, my only thought was 'Why the hell have I not been here before!'! An eclectic mix of vintage clothing, antique jewellery and pop art prints grace the stalls whilst the smell of cafe lattes and croissants fill the autumn air. I found myself an antique gold pocket watch and vintage woolen cardigan for just £25 for the two. And my Sunday morning of trawling through clothes never stopped there, in fact it just got a whole lot more exciting at Brick lane, before heading back to the comforts of the highstreet where regretfully I left behind a lovely pair of Leopard print converse (Deffinately one for the Christmas list, if I can wait!). Oh how I love to shop.

A cheeky trip to Madame Tussauds... Hello Einstein.

Purchase photos should be making an appearence sometime in the near future... that is if my week goes to plan.

Happy Halloween!

LBD and block platforms

How amazing would these orange and brown strappy platforms look with a simple black dress. Definately a no brainer for all those other lazy ladies out there who like me sometimes just fancy wearing the ever-so-satisfying little black dress. Perhaps kooky them up a little with a pair of lacy socks!

Want, love, need

Ok, so I've spent the evening browsing through the archives of Topshop tumblr (looking for inspiration for an assignment of course). And how amazing it is! It's a great way of finding new ways that you would never have thought to have worn something before. The only downside is the fact that I've got myself another list of must have items for the glorious season of Autumn! So here goes for my wish list...

1) A white masculine buttoned up shirt.

2) Chunky brown leather platforms and a pleated mint maxi skirt.

3) A heap load of finger candy!

4) Leopard print blouse. Yes please!

5) Tangerine trousers.

6) Leather trousers.

7) Luscious RED lips.

8) That EXACT midi skirt! Love love love.

9) Printed denim shorts.

10) Waterfall hem maxi skirt.

And in the meantime the rabbit is up to her usual tricks...
Eating fake flowers. Hmm, perhaps more attention is needed. No more Topshop Tumblr.
Dammit.

Pin stripe shirt and woolen skirt

Wow, what a week!

I started back at Uni last week and already been given four assignments due in just before Christmas. Apparently its the 'season to be jolly', but whoever came up with this phrase obviously did not have students in mind! Anywho, being the dedicated and well organised student I am, I've already started brainstorming and cracking on with the research. However I do wonder how long this attitude will continue... I do have a tendancy of getting distracted by the latest episode of Towie now and again! Yes, I'm a secret Towie fan. On top of this, I've just started a new job in a cool little champagne bar! Hooray for change and sleepless nights!

In the meantime I've been browsing the net and found an amazing Pinstripe shirt! Definately one for those adrogyny lovers out there! I'll be wearing mine tucked into a woolen skirt with contrasting tights, shoe boots and a stack of enamel bangles for a winter urban cool look. Perfecto.

Kokon to Zai

Today I had the pleasure to work in the backstage hustle and bustle of the Kokon to Zai show, and what an experience that was. Full of intricate bead work, black leather and chunky buckles. The collection had a very present tribal feel to it combined with a very brave and youthful touch of S&M; obviously all in good taste! The collection was high energy, rebellious and exceptionally bold; just how I like it. I particularly loved the beaded dress pictured below; Just from past experience, I can completely appreciate the time taken to hand sew each bead on and make it look this fantastic! I'd certainly say it's the dress of the collection!

In the rush this morning to catch the train I was already late for, I stupidly forgot to pack my camera into my bag, so I apologise in advance for the dark, blurry images!

And here's my almost all black ensemble to Fashion Week...

 See you next February LFW!

Butterflies and pearls

There comes a time in the year when we must let go of the sun and embrace the cold autumnal winds. It's a transition we all detest, until we remember how comfortable it is to hide away in layers of scarves, tshirts, jumpers and boots. However today, I went totally against this and whipped out a beautiful butterfly print summer dress that I picked up from H&M at the beginning of summer, with a vintage pearl jacket and to make it a little more suitable for the weather, I paired them with my shearling boots! Brave decision paid off I say.
